Himari, a ninja basketball goblin girl, needs to save a city from a robot invasion! Of course, in game dev it’s always the evil [insert random noun here]. In any case, kindly help out our hero Himari.
No time to lose
The story progresses as Himari gets revived after five years of living in solitude, only to find out about the potential threat. Together with Tatsumi, Ikari and Kimiko she starts her journey.
Spicyfuse took this job seriously, given a number of accolades to his name, most of which were released for the Game Boy Color. Alongside over one dozen releases, the creator has open access to his Game Boy testing room, where anyone can go and take a sneak into what’s cooking at his creation lab! Not every developer is that open to the public, which is positively recognized and appreciated.
Appealing visuals, detailed characters with background, an interesting written story speak for itself, although some converted graphics could have needed a manual fix.
This Metroidvania game features a story that goes over 40 different stages, filled with platforming challenges and devious secrets. It is up to the player to figure out what the secret is, using the hints from the storyline. As you progress along, new characters with even more fascinating friendship dynamics appear.
The catchy chip tunes are just another great plus to this title. Your ears will be happy!
