Calling all fantasy-lovers for this exquisite side scrolling shooter, because it will have everyone popping out their eyes! Mage and the Grimoire of Beasts is an action-packed modern title for the Game Boy Color designed to keep you absolutely hooked throughout each gaming session!

Abracadabra!

Yousu Okashii, the brain behind this release, is more of a niche creator than someone who would make all sorts of games. Up until now, he has a total of four releases on his plate, and all of them seem to have one common factor: They’re classified as ‘naughty’ games. These naughty games generally have mild NSFW content, and are generally only recommended for audiences, that are twelve years or older.

Moving ahead, the game story-line could be a plot by Walt Disney. Mage, our hero, accidentally hits a bookshelf, that releases many nasty beasts. Now, it is up to him, to catch all of them, before his master finds out and expels him from studying!

Throw fireballs at the beasts to capture them. Once you manage all six stages, you can have a free level selection and choose to play with a different Grimoire. Collect special items to increase speed or enjoy faster scoring.

The visuals show precise attention to detail and look great. The music is fitting but hectic. It raises your blood pressure, rather than bringing it down. Now, that’s not a bad thing, but maybe intention.
