Catventure: The Red Cat Quest is a fun to play platformer for the NES. It’s actually the result of the determination and hard work of two individuals. Talking Cat created the game using NESmaker and Ryuukenger contributed the music.

Ginger, To the Rescue.

You are Ginger, a red furred cat, responsible for saving your friend, Flake. An evil necromancer has kidnapped him. Using your ability to fight with boomerangs and bubbles, you have to navigate your way through five levels. Scrolls are scattered around the levels, if you find ten of them, you’ll get an extra chance to rescue Flake.

For a hobby project, this game turned out really lovely. It may not be perfect, but a lot of sweat and time has gone into this game, and we can assure for sure, that this is one of the better NESmaker games out there.

You are set to face six different bosses, which spice up the gameplay a lot. There are secrets to discover, and to be honest, who doesn’t like secrets, especially in video games.

The music for this particular release was outsourced to Ryuukenger, and he definitely did not disappoint with the amount of clarity, amusement and tuning the music of the gameplay possesses. Overall, a treat for your ears.
