Penguin Attack (2024)

‘Penguin Attack’ is an Arcade game made for the ZX Spectrum. The game entails a story of a penguin, setting out on a quest of love and survival. This game runs on 48k and 128k machines, certainly also using a ZX Spectrum emulator of your choice.

TAKE THAT, SNOWFACE

The ‘Black Pingus’ are the most notorious gang of thugs and bad boys in the arctic. They have been terrorizing innocent blue penguins in ‘Pinwiland’ for far too long. With the help of their connections, they successfully captured ‘Ninwina’, the girlfriend of our ever-strong protagonist ‘Pinwi’. It seems their relation has not been seen positively, and it must be fun for the bad ones to separate them from each other. What they might not have realized, despite being black or blue, Pinwi is a master in shooting snowballs with a damn strong hand. Certainly, he has taken it upon himself to rescue Ninwina from the hands of these rascals. Records show that she is being kept somewhere far in the countryside. You can play the game using a keyboard or using a joystick, for the better experience you may prefer a joystick.

The game has a total of 21 stages featuring different beautiful pixeled backgrounds. You have to eliminate penguins, who appear on the screen quite frequent. Slide to avoid their balls, and make sure you shoot accurately. Since Pinwi can only shoot in five directions, hitting your opponents is not easy. Collect fish for yummy!

Watch out for the annoying octopus, who jumps out of a hole, and disappears in it again quite fast. There will be of course other enemies and obstacles as well. Ideally you can save Ninwina, if not, maybe you at least get a place in the high score.
