There’s peril, and then there’s mystery. ‘Urok’ by ‘Tartessos Games’ for the ZX Spectrum 128K, plunges players into a legendary world filled with both. Atop the western hill lies a once-dominant multiverse entity, sealed in a nightmare and awaiting the chance for revenge. Can you master the demon?
THE EVIL IS EVERYWHERE
This adventure platform game requires a lot of trial and error, but as you progress, the difficulty diminishes, making the experience more enjoyable. It’s a game that takes you back to the good old days of video gaming, where advancing was a challenge, not a stroll in the park. In order to help you in the game, we found some key points — if something hits you once, don’t come near it again. Also, the demon can fly temporarily, and you must look up if things fall from the sky. The flight control is fine, but it requires adaptation. The demon’s jump is sensitive, as you can jump low or high depending on how you press Q. Note that pressing Q twice quickly allows the demon to fly at ground level or higher. If the ceiling damages you on a high jump, the second time you should jump lower or activate a faster flight to avoid crashing. Mastering the controls is the name of the game, friends. And, once you do that, the first phase of Urok can be passed without taking a single hit. Call this phase jump and flight training if you will.

Interestingly, folks at Tartessos Games say an easier version may be uploaded for less skilled players, making the beginning more friendly and accessible. It’s a great idea, we reckon.
Conclusion
The fact of the matter is that Urok captures the essence of classic gaming with its challenging gameplay and intricate mechanics. Mastering the demon requires patience and skill, but the rewarding experience is well worth it. Retro game
lovers are in for a treat.
