Decathlon DX for Game Boy Color by Rajcsányi László is a loving homage to the 1983 Atari VCS classic by David Crane. With its authentic VCS graphics and challenging gameplay, this GB Studio creation brings eight gruelling athletic events to life, testing your skills in speed, strength, and precision.
RUN LIKE THE WIND
In Decathlon, you can compete in events like the high jump, long jump, 100m dash, javelin, and discus throw, among others. It’s up to you whether you opt to tackle all events in a full decathlon or focus on a single discipline. There’s also a practice mode that is invaluable for newcomers – like us. The game’s difficulty demands precise control, particularly in jumping events where timing is crucial, and in throwing events where you must keep your foot behind the line to avoid disqualification. After completing all the events, your performance is tallied into an overall score. If we had to pick one event, the javelin throw became our favourite, as we had loads of fun thanks to its potential to achieve impressive distances and high scores.
This fangame retains the spirit of the original Activision’s Decathlon while offering a streamlined experience for the Game Boy Color. Although this version omits the pole vault and the gruelling 1500m race, it still captures the essence of a multi-event athletic competition. Decathlon stands out as an enjoyable title, offering some athletic fun.

Conclusion
The game is not just about winning medals; it’s about the journey, the competition, and the sheer joy of gaming. Just remember, in Decathlon, it’s all about speed, strength, and a bit of luck. So, lace up your running shoes, and let the games
begin! It’s cardio time!
