If you’re hungry, hungry, hungry… clap your hands! If you’re hungry, and you know it, then you really gotta play ‘Rocket Panda’. This tasty new Sega Genesis game, fresh from a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign, is ready to be bought. Fans are eagerly awaiting their physical carts, and trust us, it’s nom, nom!

“Can’t Find My Biscuits”

Right from the word go, Rocket Panda greets you with an excellent intro video, complete with vibrant blast-processing colours. Making matters even more delicious, there’s a catchy, Disney-style sing-along to accompany the intro. It’s the kind of tune that really sticks with you. The game’s 90s feel is evident from the beginning, with visuals and audio that are super charming. Food puns are the order of the day, folks. Hungry yet? You will be soon enough. Because the evil Biscuit Head has invaded Biscuit Land and taken all the badgers hostage. It’s our job to help Rocket Panda rescue them. The gameplay revolves around guiding Rocket Panda through more than 60 levels spread across seven vibrant worlds. From Biscuit City to the Chocolate Mountains, and beyond, you’ll collect badgers and biscuits to progress. Although it plays like a SHMUP, Rocket Panda lacks projectile attacks.

Players instead rely on limited dash attacks to take down enemies, which are replenished by picking up cups of tea. The mix of quirky enemies — like Flying Pigs and Mega Toast — alongside the unique boss battles (giant Teacup and Cheese Ball, anyone?) gives the game a fun and foody flair. Oh, and did we mention there’s even a mini-game to enjoy that is a fun version of Asteroids? Yep!

Conclusion

Rocket Panda has this effect of hitting you right in the feels, reminding us of James Pond. Its joyous visuals and groovy soundtrack make it a treat for Sega fans. Even without any jumping, this yummy platformer flies high, making it a real snack for gaming lovers. Bon appétit.
